Who is flashs arch nemesis

Eobard Thawne had started as a scientist in the 25th century that was a fan of Barry Allen to the point of psychotic obsession. Created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino in 's The Flash , Thawne would recreate the electrochemical accident that gave Barry his powers only to learn that he was destined to become the speedster's greatest villain.

His fragile mind broken, Thawne would charge the Negative Speed Force and use the Cosmic Treadmill from the Flash Museum to travel back and confront his former hero in exceedingly deadly battles. Thawne murdered Iris West and forced Barry to kill him, and the villain's death and crimes haunted the speedster. After his resurrection during Blackest Night , Thawne would travel even further back in time, causing all the major tragedies in Barry's life including the murder of his mother, framing Barry's father.

After Barry caused the Flashpoint reality in an attempt to save her, Thawne would resurface to taunt him, boasting he had become the Flash's greatest foe. While all of the villains on this list of caused Flash plenty of trouble, the Reverse-Flash is the only one who damaged the Flash's life, and the DC Universe, so irreparably. Thawne fundamentally changed Barry Allen's origin decades after the hero's creation on a scale that's otherwise unheard of in superhero comics.

The Reverse-Flash might boast about being Flash's greatest enemy, but he does so with good reason. Sam Stone is a 10th level pop culture guru living just outside of Washington, DC who knows an unreasonable amount about The Beatles. You can follow him on Twitter samstoneshow and ask him about Nintendo, pop punk, and Star Trek. Not willing to walk away from the idea, Hunter broke into the museum where the treadmill was being held and used it for himself.

The machine exploded causing two significant changes to Hunter. First, his paralysis was cured. Second, he could now alter his personal connection to the timestream. Wanting Wally to be a better hero, Hunter became a villain. This meant that Zoom focused all of his energy towards pushing Wally to his limits.

Gorilla Grodd is, without a doubt, one of the strangest of The Flash enemies. As his name implies, Gorilla Grodd is a large Gorilla who is highly intelligent, telepathic and capable of ripping the arms off of anyone.

His city is most easily accessed via the Speedforce. Through it, he has tried on more than one occasion to access and take over Earth. What makes Grodd so different from many other Flash enemies is that he is big enough, strong enough, and smart enough to follow through on whatever plan he thinks up. After stealing an advanced freeze gun, Leonard Snort put on a winter jacket and called himself Captain Cold.

Whereas most other Flash enemies cast aside the well-being of others, Captain Cold lives by a code of honor. In it lies the following codes: no senseless violence, no use of drugs, and no killing women or children. All of this equates to Captain Cold solidifying himself as one of the greatest Flash enemies. Where others let their emotions dictate who and what they do, Captain Cold relies solely on the task at hand, never letting his emotions get the better of him.

Above killing Iris West. Above causing a Universe-wide change in the New Not only does his bring out the best and worst in The Flash but he does so with ease.

Throughout the years, Eobard Thawne has mastered the art of time travel, has learned to run as fast or faster than The Flash and does each without so much as lifting a finger.

What do you think? Who would make your Flash enemies list? Next Sif Origin — Comic Basics. Additionally, the Super Friends -esque art style of the last page promises a goofy time. Overall, Wally West's journey into the Infinite Frontier has been a cathartic one both for the character and for his fans. Wally West's time as the Reverse-Flash promises to be one of the Flash's most hilarious misadventures of all time.
